For my essay three, I decided to argue that the rich are just becoming richer and the poor aren't having any progression for success. I don't think this is just a coincidence. I feel as if the rich are always being treated special; for example, I have watched a show before where a singer goes to a very fancy store and the store manager lets her get things without paying for it because he likes her music. To some people that may seem "okay" but to me I feel like that is just making them more richer. On the other hand, if a poor women with the same skills goes to that same store, she wouldn't be able get anything for free. We need to be helping out the poor, not giving the rich more opportunities to stay rich. Some will argue that the rich work hard to get their money, but a large percentage of the homeless people are ex war vets. They fought for our country and they don't even have a chance to rent a home because to live in our society is really expensive. If the rich continue to get richer, I think that even the middle class will one day be let behind. The rich are so rich that I feel like the middle class are now becoming more poorer than we realize.

Is the American Dream leaving America?
In "The American Dream Leaving America?," Nicolas Kristof provides many examples about the educational problems we face as Americans. While I was reading I liked that he gave us many statistics about the facts about the old America and the new America (as I like to call it). I do believe that America is changing and that it is becoming more and more difficult for minorities to attend a good school or even be able to attend and afford college. He gives the readers lots of facts about other countries and how we compare to them now where as before we excelled in mass education. I do agree that the American dream is leaving America because I feel like it is just becoming too hard to not end us where started, meaning I feel like now in America if you start off poor you will most likely end up poor.
